In episode 5 of A Jiu-jitsu Life, Shawn Fowler sits down with Alliance Black Belt, Jena Bishop.  This was a very unique episode because very few jiu-jitsu or any martial arts related media allow for an open and honest discussion of what it takes to be a competitor in today’s grappling environment.

Bishop is very open about her experiences as a top female competitor.  She also provides great insights into what it means to balance competition with coaching and a personal life.  Bishop also discusses the taboo subject of changing schools and teams.  If you are a jiu-jitsu competitor or someone who just wants to be motivated by an extraordinary individual, this episode is for you.
